Science Literacy – take 2

by webmaster on October 27, 2009

The earlier science literacy podcast I did went so well that it made me think: it might be nice to have one with a more local flavour – as in being more about science literacy in Ireland.
To provide the local point of view I found someone who not only writes as a science correspondent for a leading newspaper but who is also the Public Awareness of Science officer in University College Cork, Professor William Reville.
The podcast moved from science literacy to cover the way in which the Irish newspapers report on science: not only Professor Reville’s own paper, The Irish Times, but also the leading broadsheet competitors – and he provided an interesting take on this.
Anyhoo, you can find the podcast in the usual place… http://www.sciencechat.podomatic.com/ as well as on iTunes.
